Hello!

Welcome to my website. I have chosen to turn this site into a blog site until further developments dictate otherwise.

Who am I and what will you find here?

I consider myself a truth seeker. In some sense, I am a philosopher. I sometimes refer to myself as the “Reluctant Coach”. I chose that phrase because I never pursued being a coach, and I never thought I had something to say that people needed to hear. However, I reached a point in my life where what I had to say occurred to make a positive impact and help people. Many of those people, as well as others, have told me that I need to speak and people need to hear what I have to say. I have often found myself in the role of teacher/guide, which makes a degree of sense. I have reached a point where I am filled with enough information and have had enough experience that I am overflowing and I am now giving back by sharing what I have learned and experienced.

I got into personal development at the young age of 12 because I had completely forgotten how to be happy. Uniquely, my older brother had an older friend who was a mentee of a well-known personal development speaker, who produced self-help audio cassettes and regularly held seminars around San Diego. The mentee was my mentor, and in addition to coaching me directly (and teaching me how to eat fire!), turned me onto books, audio, seminars, and even weekend retreats that all began a journey that, in hindsight, might have been a bit advanced for such a young kid. Nonetheless, I learned a great deal which has served me throughout my life. And I have only continued to add to my knowledge and experience throughout my life.

I spend most of my time thinking, observing, and reflecting on a number of challenging and relevant subjects, and discussing them with others, with as much truth, open-mindedness, and as little conflict as possible. On the topics I choose to opine on, I do my best to educate myself as much as possible, consider all sides, and incorporate my personal experience on the subject. In most cases, I do my best to synthesize a wide breadth of (sometimes seemingly unrelated) information from which to draw a conclusion or theory.

Like many who do what I do, I seek understanding and enjoyment of this experience that is life. I have experienced my own unique suffering, as all have, and only through careful contemplation and articulation, and contribution from others, have I been able to navigate my way.

Over the last several years, I began to observe that my contemplations occurred to be of benefit to others. At some point, I seem to have acquired enough information and life experience, and with sufficient facility in articulating it to others, that others would seek my guidance. So once again, as the “Reluctant Coach”, I began to pass on the information that I had spent a lifetime acquiring.

Ultimately, I am interested in as much fairness as life can allow. Life isn’t fair in the cards we are all dealt, and… I believe we can level the playing field as much as possible.

Some of the things that are most important to me are:

  • Sexuality (especially in the context of desire, mate selection, and gender equality)
  • Heightism (especially in the shadow of “diversity & inclusion”)
  • Societal Structures
  • God & Spirituality
  • Personality Types & Self Expression
  • Health & Wealth

There will be some core blogs that will be foundational to my platform, which I will try to post first, or as early as possible. I will point to these when possible. Some blogs may not make as much sense with these being read first.

I anticipate that what I have to say will be challenging for some on occasion. Self-righteousness is the root of all conflict in the world, and it comes from a place of internal beliefs and values being triggered. My ask is that when someone feels triggered or conflicted, pause and breath and interact in a way that is constructive and builds a bridge and not incendiary (aka: a “troll”), as an unfortunate number of people have taken to being online. Through constructive conflict, we find answers, and I truly believe that collectively we come up with the best answers.

I excel at contemplating problems.

Once again, thank you for stopping by!

Jeff
